Lingual Orthodontics

What is lingual orthodontic treatment?

The lingual technique moves the teeth to their desired position with an individually made retainer that is attached to the rear (tongue) side of the teeth. Maintaining the natural structure of the teeth, crowding and problems closing the mouth can be corrected unnoticeably. Located in the back of the mouth, the retainer may irritate the tongue. After a period following initial insertion, however, the retainer will cease to cause discomfort and will not create any aesthetic problems or speech difficulties.
